
George Valiakos, DVM, MSc, PhD
Associate Professor at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Thessaly, Greece
George Valiakos is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly since December 2017. He is a graduate of the Veterinary School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, has a master’s degree from the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly related to Public and One Health and a doctorate from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the same University. He is the author and co-author of 58 scientific publications, with over 750 references and a total h-index of 14 (Scopus). He has been the Principal Investigator of six EU and private funded projects and participated in other eight. He has been the Scientific Officer for the operation of the Regional Control Laboratory for Peste Des Petits Ruminants (PPR), Sheep Pox and Foot and Mouth Disease, Central Greece, Thessaly, appointed by the Hellenic Republic Ministry οf Rural Development and Food.
